Undocumented migrants need integration, protection of human rights and social justice. They also need a culturally sensitive approach to change the public notion of illegal migration and the rights of illegal migrants.
TYPE OF EXPERT AND NETWORK:
PICUM members are non-governmental organisations or international organisations whose activities fully or partly relate to the situation of undocumented migrants.
PURPOSE OF THE NETWORK:
PICUM works to ensure that all migrants are entitled to a dignified standard of living and respect. Bringing together the experiences and expertise of its members, PICUM generates and coordinates a humane and informed response to undocumented migrants’ realities and provides a platform to engage policy makers and the general public in the full realisation of their rights.
PICUM’s activities are focused in five main areas:
Monitoring and Reporting, Capacity Building, Advocacy, Awareness rising, and Global actors on international migration.
