BENEFICIARY NEEDS:
Refugees and internally displaced persons need a permanent housing solution and creation of self-employment opportunities.

SOLUTION:
The RAISE project aims to integrate internally displaced persons (IDP) and refugee into rural communities throughout Serbia. The project supports them to start up small businesses in rural environments. The two key objectives are to provide support and continuous one-to- one mentoring in order to develop sustainable agribusinesses and to provide social integration assistance and socio-psychological support to the beneficiaries.

why it is
interesting

It is interesting because “RAISE” is the only initiative in Serbia and in the wider region of The Western Balkans, which is focusing on the economic integration of refugees and internally displaced people paying special attention to various aspects of social and economic inclusion.

IMPACT:
The project has included 140 refugees and internally displaced people from the Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo.
